Are People Really Making Money Internet Marketing

I was forced into a career change and didn’t know what I was going to do. My wife stays home to our little girl, the house all the bills and there I was without a job. I did have a little savings but not enough. I tried getting a new job in my industry but with the recession there were 10 applicants for every position. It was out of desperation that I started surfing the make money online sites. I started to get familiar with some of language and there seemed to be so much out there I had to ask myself, are people really making money affiliate marketing?

What Is Internet Marketing Anyway

The next question I had was of course, what is internet marketing. What I found is that affiliate marketing is when one markets a product for a company on the internet, when a sale is made you get a commission. At first it sounded too hard, a long shot. I have never been a commission guy, I like a steady income. I did my research and then I started doing the math. There are tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of companies that have affiliate marketing plans. There are billions of people online everyday and many of them, maybe even more than 50% of them buy things on the internet. Then the answer was clear, people ARE making money internet marketing. OK so that’s great, my next question was how do I do it? What do I need to learn for affiliate marketing? What are the strategies that will get me started making money affiliate marketing?

Back to the old research… There are so many websites and books and guides that make claim to making quick money affiliate marketing. I am an interactive learner – meaning I do best when I have someone to teach me, to answer my questions, to give me a shove when I get stuck; so I kept looking. So I have been at this thing for five months now and maybe you are asking if I am making money internet marketing? The answer is yes! It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t hard. It wasn’t easy because it takes work, and commitment. I had to have an open mind to learn something new; I had to think of it as going to work everyday because that’s what it is. It wasn’t hard because it’s simple – very simple. Sure there was alot to learn and I almost gave up in the beginning, but I kept with it and suddenly it clicked; I saw the simplicity in it, put my nose to the grind stone and started making money affiliate marketing.

How Gmail Invite and Tell A Friend Work in Viral Marketing

When the Google email service was initially offered, it largely relied on referrals to recruit new subscribers. The gmail invite works by providing certain email memory allocations that can be given to the contacts of a new subscriber. The main sales pitch used was the excellent spam filter. Users were promised that they will get very minimal junk mails in their inboxes. As the spam filter is being trained, the junk mails will eventually become zero. Another selling point was the high amount of memory allocation. These are excellent selling points considering that the Google email service is for free. Other excellent features of Google mail include automatic email forwarding and built-in chat program. Users can directly chat with online contacts from their email page using viral tell a friend and users can also invite their gmail contacts.

The gmail invite marketing model was very successful that millions of new subscribers were recruited within a relatively short period of time. Virtually all of these new subscribers already have existing email accounts but they still opted to use gmail as alternative email account. This is perhaps partly because of the fact that a Google email account is also required to avail all other services of Google such as Blogger.com, Adsense, and Googlepages. Using Google email also provided anonymity to users who otherwise do not want their main email account to be known to others. The email forwarding feature of gmail allows users to forward emails from their gmail to their other email account through viral tell a friend.

The gmail invite marketing model is an excellent model that can also be used in ordinary commercial websites. The strategy is simple enough to be imitated in some forms. It is actually a type of viral marketing wherein, the propagation of product awareness relies on social networks.
